Physically Handicapped Trust
   The Physically Handicapped & Paraplegic Charitable Trust of Karnataka ® was established in the year 1994 by Dr. John Ebnezar. He is one of very few Orthopedic Surgeon in the world to have his own trust. This trust was established with the following objectives:
  • To establish free health check up clinics camps.
  • To help the poor patients avail medical treatment.
  • To educate the common public about Orthopedic Related Problems.
 -- Donations to the trust are exempted from income tax under section 80-g.
 -- Donations can be paid by cheques drawn on bangalore in the name of
"Physically Handicapped Charitable Trust of Karnataka".

Activities of the Physically Handicapped Trust (Social & Charity work)
On Mar 30th 1996Conducted a Free Health Checkup Camp at Apoorva Hospital, Hulimavu. Free Handicapped & Railway Concession Certificate were distributed to the handicapped people.
On Mar 30th 1996 A state level health check up camp for the physically handicapped based on Ilizarov Methodology of Treatment in orthopaedics was conducted at Apoorva Hospital by the Renowned National Ilizarov Expert Dr. G.S. Kulkarani.
On Dec 6th 1996Conducted a state level music competition for the physically handicapped on the World Disabled Day.

& Jan 1997		Pulse Polio Camp at Apoorva Hospital & Apoorva Clinic. More than 150 childrens were immunised.
In Dec 1998
& Jan 1999		 Pulse Polio Camp at Apoorva Hospital.
On Jan 18th 1999General Health Checkup Camp at Parimala Hospital, Bilekahalli, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore.
On Jan 19th 1999Well Women Camp at Parimala Hospital.
On Dec 20th 1999Orthopaedic Checkup Camp at Parimala Hospital.
On Jan 21st 1999Diabetes Camp at Parimala Hospital.

On Oct 10th 1999Free Polio – Corrective Surgery Camp was held at Parimala Hospital in the Association with the Rotary Innerwheel Club, Bangalore South.
On Dec 11th 1999Conducted a State Level Music Competition for the handicapped & disabled with the help of the Rotary Innerweel Club, Bangalore South on the world disabled day at the Rotary Hall.
On Jan 17th 2000Pulse Polio Camp at Parimala & Apoorva Hospital, Bangalore.
On Apr 25th 2000Conducted a Free Cancer Detection Camp for women with the help of Rotary Innerwhell at Parimala Hospital
On Apr 30th 2000Conducted a Free Family Planning Sterilisation Camps at Parimal Hospital.
On Jun 11th 2000Conucted a Lowbackache Checkup Camp at Parimala Hospital. More than 130 patients were examined for lowbackache and this was the first camp of such nature in the state.
On Dec 09th 2000Conducted a State Level Music Competition for the hanicapped & disabled children at Rotary Hall, in association with the Innerwheel Club of Bangalore South. More than 50 children participated.
On May 29th 2001Conducted a Free Health Checkup Camp for Women at the premises of Parimala Hospital.
On Dec 22nd 2001 & Dec 15th 2002Conducted a State Level Music Competition for the disabled children at Rotary Hall in association with the Innerwheel Club Bangalore South at Rotary Hall.

On Sept 11th 2005Conducted a Free Cancer Detection Camp for Women at Parimala Hospital.

Subsidised medical & Surgical treatment for the poor & needy

    Through his trust the Physically Handicapped & Paraplegic Charitable Trust of Karnataka, Dr. John has been instrumental in giving highly subsidised treatment for the poor and needy at Parimala Hospital & Research Centre, Bilekahalli, Bannerghatta road, Bangalore 76.
    The total cost of the treatment for the poor and needy ever since the formation of the trust in 1996 is around Rs 5 lakhs.

Free Health Check Up Camp on 7th Mar 2010

A Free Health Check Up Camp was conducted by Physically Handicapped Trust at Parimala Health Care Services on 7th Mar 2010, was supported by Abbott India Limited, Indian Orthopedic Association and Bangalore Orthopedic Society. 74 patients from different parts of Bangalore attended the camp and made it a huge success.
